An ideal mix of sailing your own yacht and the support and advice of the flotilla lead crew to get the best of your holiday.
If you have sailing experience you can join a flotilla and sail your own sailing yacht. Less experienced skippers will appreciate the help of the flotilla leader at the mooring with the stern or bow to the quay at the end of a pleasant sailing day.
Flotilla sailing in Greece for couples, friends or families with children
More experienced sailors join a flotilla for socializing. It is a popular holiday choice for couples, friends and families. During school holidays there are usually other families in the flotillas, so it's also fun for the kids.
The routes are organized so you can visit the best places but there is always the possibility to sail independently. Stop by for lunch, swimming and a picnic in a beautiful bay. Enjoy the good winds in the afternoon to sail before you head for the mooring for the night in a lively Greek port. In the evening you can get off your yacht in a place full of bars and taverns.
The flotilla sailing holidays start on Saturday and end on Saturday. Not later than 17.00 hours is your yacht waiting for you to board. Of course during the check-in, everything is explained. Check-out is often on Friday the day before departure. Ofcourse you can stay on the yacht, overnight till the next morning.
Besides your swimwear and shorts, we recommend for the evenings at least a pair of trousers and a sweater for example / fleece jacket with you. In all seasons it is possible that sometimes a drop of water will fall (in the low season, ofcourse some more). A sailing jacket can be good enough. Because there're simply no big lockers on a yacht that accommodate large bags, folding bags are the best solution for the luggage.
The Ionian zone has perfect conditions for sailing enthusiasts. The sun is shining and the wind is always there, the strength varies between 2 - 5 Beaufort. In the mornings the wind is less and in the afternoons usually picks up.
