The new Caribbean opportunity!
When you say Cuba, you think of cigars, Fidel and the slight headache you have after drinking too much Cuba Libres.
But whoever visits this largest island in the Caribbean will not have a hangover!
It combines a fascinating mix of colonial history with a variety of Latin American, Spanish and African cultures. It offers white sandy beaches, coconut palm trees and an underwater world that contains around 500 species of fish and fifty different types of coral that surround this exciting island.
More than 4000 reefs and coves are part of Cuba, including the special Isle of Youth (Isla de la Juventud) with an area of 2200 km2. Also known as an important Island in this region, Cuba is the largest island of the West Indies and one of the largest in the world. Cuba has more than 300 natural beaches with fine white sand and crystal clear water. The most important of these beaches is Varadero; but there are others to the East of the capital in Holguín and Cayo Largo del Sur, as well as in the Northern towns of Ciego de Avila and Villa Clara.
Diving enthusiasts and sailors like to come to Cuba because of the clarity of the water, unpolluted and well-protected circumstances, diversity of underwater flora and fauna and few tidal currents. The range of charter yachts in Cuba is not large but there is a good selection of monohulls and catamarans, mainly in three and four cabin configuration.
To reach Cuba is easy, there is a wide range of charter flights from all over Europe, including London and Amsterdam.
